“IN VINO VERITAS” の意味は、VINOはワイン、VERITASは真実という意味のラテン語で、お酒の席で交わされる会話こそが本音である、というイタリアで使われていることわざです。私はワインが好きでよく友達や家族といった大切な人とワインを飲みますが、そういった親しみのある会話を楽しむ日常のひと時を大切にしたいと思っています。またこの作品では、ワインを表現する色に実際にその時に飲んだワインの澱(瓶の底に沈んでいるワイン成分の一部)を使って描いています。このワインのドローイングを見ると、それぞれのワインを一緒に飲んだ人との会話や楽しい時間を思い起こしてくれます。これらのドローイングは、私にとってそんな日常の楽しいメモです。
In vino veritas is a Latin phrase that translates, “in wine [there is the] truth”. This is a proverb passed in Italian language according which nobody can lie when drinking wine. Wine makes people relax. I appreciate wine very much and I like to drink it with my “special” people: my friends and my family. Time and conversations become more enjoyable sharing good wine with good friends.
And these are the magic moments I would like to cherish. In these drawings, the color is the wine I drunk in those moments. These drawings remind me enjoyable hours and the conversation I used to have with my “special” people while drinking that wine. These drawings are happy memos like those moments for me.
